Created in 1969 by Hungarian Joe Martin, a former Ferencvaros and Hungary national team player, showbol adopts all the rules of field soccer in a futsal court and adds an ingredient that provides intense and uninterrupted emotion to the sport: quick passing. The ball is never out and the playing is never interrupted, thus ensuring a fast pace and high intensity within the four lines.
The first match in Brazil was played in 1972, at Maracanãzinho, between the Brazilian and the rest of the world teams. Later the sport entered Europe with some exhibition matches. And, after almost 30 years without any incentive, showbol has renewed its partners and is being played in Brazil again.
